I am a 3rd year biomedical engineering student at University College London. I come from an international background and I have been tutoring my whole life, since age 14 and pride myself on making sure that the way I teach is enjoyable and engaging. I love to chat with people so getting to know my student and what they enjoy is very important as a part of teaching. My hobbies are triathlon and goint to the gym. I also follow football very closely. I went to the English School of Kyrenia in the TRNC. It is an international school and therefore I did IGCSEs and International A Levels. I did my A Levels in Maths, Physics and Biology and achieved an A grade in all three as well as 8s and 9s in all of my IGCSEs. While at school I spent free time tutoring younger years. I now attend University College London and am in my third year of Biomedical Engineering. I have been tutoring 2 family friends aged 16 for their IGCSEs and I tutored my younger brother A Level Physics and Maths while balancing my university degree. My degree has a perfect balance of Maths, Physics, and Biology, making me feel confident that my knowledge is up to date and constantly developing, allowing me to tutor the subjects to a high level. Currently doing the subjects I tutor at a university level has allowed me to understand concepts on a deeper, core level and allow me to teach them at a fundamental level, rather than just memorisation.

I love music. My main passions are playing piano, guitar and singing. I also love reading books, and I've nearly finished writing my first novel. I also love watching plays and musicals. I have two cats, a dog and a tortoise and they sometimes like to join me in webinars! I also like baking, and bake cookies and cakes a lot. I am currently pursuing a Law degree at King's College London. I have A-Level grades of A*-A in Computer Science, Maths, German and EPQ, and have 12 GCSE grades, with an average of grade 8/9 (including all of the required subjects, Triple Science, German, Computer Science, Further Maths and HPQ). I also have grade 8 ABRSM in piano, and grade 5 ABRSM in music theory.

Hello, my name’s Benjamin. I’m patient, approachable, and passionate about maths and physics. I’ve always enjoyed talking about the subjects I love, partly because I think they’re really cool, but also because I believe it’s important to be curious about the world around us. My approach to learning is based on understanding things from first principles. I think it’s much better to build strong foundations than to simply memorise facts or methods without really knowing why they work. If you understand something properly, you shouldn’t have to remember very much at all and that makes learning a lot easier and more enjoyable. I also like connecting concepts to real-world examples, as this can make abstract ideas feel much more concrete. For example, Faraday’s law helps explain how wireless charging works! As a tutor, I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and supportive, helping students build confidence as well as knowledge.
