Hello! I'm Fintan, I'm a 2nd year student at Cardiff University studying Financial Mathematics (BSc) - Primarily a further development into the field of Maths, with some time spent learning about Corporate management and Investment Management. My teaching approach focuses on consolidating knowledge and encouraging critical thinking. To excel in GCSE and A-Level Maths, it is important to not only know the content, but for it to feel like second nature, so that when it comes to higher level questions, you can identify and apply the methods confidently. Whether you're just starting year 12, or coming to the end of year 13, today is the best time to enrol with a private tutor, to give you that extra edge over your competition. I attended Devonport High School for Boys from 2016 to 2023. Achieving a 9 in mathematics at GCSE level and an A in mathematics at A-level. I'm now building on the skills from A-Level in an undergraduate mathematics degree at Cardiff University. My best area in the A-Level Mathematics syllabus is Statistics.

Levels and Subjects I teach Lower Level: All Sciences, Maths and English GCSE: Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English A-level: Biology, Chemistry and Maths Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, 11+, private school entry exams Languages: English fluent French and Arabic at GCSE level SEND (special needs) Experience: Dyslexia, Physical health issues, Anxiety Preferred student age group: Primary and GCSE About me: Hi there! My name is Hafsa and I am a Dental student at the University of Manchester. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Science and Maths has a huge importance in my life, a lot of it to do with my degree but also because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths in A-Levels, and A*A* and a 9 in GCSE, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my English teachers always applauded my excellent english analytical skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didnt understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to meantion all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs. Currently completing BDS Degree at the University of Manchester A - Level A - Maths A - Biology A - Chemistry A - Extended Project Qualification AS - Level A - General Studies GCSE 9 - Maths 8 - English Literature 8 - English Language A* - Biology A* - Chemistry A* - Physics A* - Religious Studies A - French

Bubbly, outgoing is what i would describe myself as. I have been tutoring for more than 5 years, i currently have graduated from University with a degree within Public Health going on to do my masters. I tutor kids from different places within the world, currently tutoring English, Maths and science along with my specialised subjects. I retake tests to ensure i am comfortable with the changes within education and aware of what resource i need to teach my GCSE students. The different qualification's I hold are English and Maths GCSE'S, I have 5 plus years worth of classroom experience in teaching kids in larger groups but however, through them 5 or more years I have also gained how to teach different children with different health and educational needs over the years. I hold health and social care qualifications along with a degree in Public Health (BSc) along with my main GCSE's. I have different styles of teaching depending on each of my student's as i use different approach for all of my students. I have recently gone back into education to complete a masters.

Everything you need to know to help your child pass this essential exam

What are GCSEs?

GCSEs are qualifications that students in the UK achieve at the end of their compulsory education.

A GCSE grade is given to each subject and calculated on written exams, practical exams and coursework.

How important are GCSEs?

GCSEs are a universally recognised qualification in the UK.

Specific GCSE grades may be required when applying for further education. This includes applications for college, sixth form and university, or when applying for a job.

GCSEs can come with a lot of pressure and expectation but your child can achieve the grades that they need with lots of practice as well as guidance from a GCSE tutor.

At what age do you take GCSEs?

Students take their GCSE exams around age 16, in the last months of the academic year at school, although the syllabus is taught between the ages of 14-16 years.

There is now more weight than ever being placed on final exams (instead of coursework), so students must be well equipped to perform on the day.

Which GCSEs are compulsory?

The core subjects for GCSEs are maths, English and science.

Other GCSEs include languages (usually French, German or Spanish), humanities (such as history, geography or religious studies), art (music, art, media, drama) and technical (food technology, design and technology, computer science).

Can GCSEs be re-marked?

If your child is on the cusp of getting the grade that they hoped for or the result simply does not seem fair, the paper in question can be sent back to the exam board for appeal.

Many students appeal exam results when they are one or two marks away from the next grade up. The right study plan and a good understanding of the marking scheme for each exam can help avoid this situation.

If your child has achieved marks close to the grade line in their mock exams, it could be time to get them some help with a GCSE tutor.
