Hello! I’m Ayan, a 5th year medical student with a genuine passion for learning, teaching, and helping others succeed. I’ve been tutoring since 2022, working with students from diverse backgrounds and adapting to different learning styles. One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is seeing students grow from feeling uncertain about a subject to approaching it with confidence. Through my medical studies, I’ve developed the ability to break down complex concepts into simple, clear, and easy-to-understand explanations. I bring this approach to my tutoring, alongside patience, dedication, and a genuine commitment to helping every student reach their potential. I understand how overwhelming schoolwork and exams can sometimes feel, so I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I believe that no subject has to feel impossible with the right guidance and approach. Whether you need help understanding challenging science concepts, preparing for exams, or developing effective study habits, I’m here to help you build both your knowledge and your confidence. If you’re looking for a tutor who is approachable, reliable, and passionate about making learning easier and more enjoyable, I’d love to work with you! Together, we’ll break down challenging topics, celebrate your progress, and work towards achieving your academic goals. I specialize in Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and General Science, supporting students across a range of academic levels: Primary Lower (KS1) Primary Higher (KS2) Secondary Lower (KS3) Secondary Higher (KS4–KS5) I tailor my lessons to each student’s needs, learning style, and academic goals, making learning engaging and effective. As a fifth-year medical student, I use my scientific knowledge and problem-solving skills to explain challenging concepts in a clear and simple way. My teaching approach is patient and adaptable, helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and prepare for exams at their own pace. My goal is to make learning enjoyable while empowering every student to reach their full academic potential.

Ciao! ....... My name is Paolo, and I am fluent in Italian and of Italian heritage (with an Italian mother and English father). Whether you want to gain basic Italian for your holidays, build on your current knowledge or have a regular chat to keep up your Italian, then I would be happy to help you on your language journey. I will design lesson material including general conversation, Italian culture, pronunciation and grammar exercises that you can take away with you. For those of you looking for more business level Italian, I gained a Languages for Business Degree at Oxford Brookes University with Italian as my main language and studied at the University of Perugia. Since then, I have worked in many Anglo Italian commercial environments, where I have lived and worked in Milan and Tuscany, and worked in Bologna. I am passionate about providing engaging lessons that are fun, relaxed and designed to go at your pace. Get in touch to have a free first 30 minute lesson for us to meet, so that I can understand your current level and goals. Ciao, Ciao Paolo I am of Italian heritage. My upbringing has enabled me to benefit from learning about all aspects of Italian life and culture with my mum being from Castellamare di Stabia close to the Sorrento and Amalfi coast. I gained a Languages for Business degree with Italian as my main language at Oxford Brookes University in 1994, where I lived in Milan for 9 months on work placements. Since then, I have embarked on a career that has given me extensive experience of working in Anglo Italian commercial environments. This has seen me use my Italian, working as a Training Specialist, Credit Controller, Account Co-ordinator and Sales Administrator, and saw me work and live in Tuscany and Bologna for work projects. In my previous roles at Amazon, I was initially an agent providing service to Italian customers and Amazon delivery drivers. I then progressed to being an Italian Training Specialist for Amazon and designed, lead and delivered the Italian customer service and driver support training to employees both virtually and at their offices in Cagliari Sardinia. I led both onsite and virtual training initiatives, including comprehensive 3–4week onboarding programs followed by 5-week coaching pathways in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This has all been achieved by adopting a warm, open and supportive training experience. My Italian tutoring experience has also seen me provide Italian conversation lessons to work colleagues who wanted to improve on their Italian. I also took one of my mum’s Italian adult education classes when she was unable to. I worked as a freelance language tutor for Charles Keene College in Leicester working on an EU funded project that aimed to create language material that aimed to help local businesses develop their Italian language.

What are GCSEs?
GCSEs are qualifications that students in the UK achieve at the end of their compulsory education.
A GCSE grade is given to each subject and calculated on written exams, practical exams and coursework.
How important are GCSEs?
GCSEs are a universally recognised qualification in the UK.
Specific GCSE grades may be required when applying for further education. This includes applications for college, sixth form and university, or when applying for a job.
GCSEs can come with a lot of pressure and expectation but your child can achieve the grades that they need with lots of practice as well as guidance from a GCSE tutor.
At what age do you take GCSEs?
Students take their GCSE exams around age 16, in the last months of the academic year at school, although the syllabus is taught between the ages of 14-16 years.
There is now more weight than ever being placed on final exams (instead of coursework), so students must be well equipped to perform on the day.
Which GCSEs are compulsory?
The core subjects for GCSEs are maths, English and science.
Other GCSEs include languages (usually French, German or Spanish), humanities (such as history, geography or religious studies), art (music, art, media, drama) and technical (food technology, design and technology, computer science).
Can GCSEs be re-marked?
If your child is on the cusp of getting the grade that they hoped for or the result simply does not seem fair, the paper in question can be sent back to the exam board for appeal.
Many students appeal exam results when they are one or two marks away from the next grade up. The right study plan and a good understanding of the marking scheme for each exam can help avoid this situation.
If your child has achieved marks close to the grade line in their mock exams, it could be time to get them some help with a GCSE tutor.
