Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for over three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the reviews, (also on this page), from some of my current and past parents whose children I am teaching/have taught! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I also have a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over three years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Hello! My name is Ruth, and I am a dedicated tutor with over five years of teaching and tutoring experience. What started as a hobby while I was at university has grown into a genuine passion for helping students learn and succeed. I believe that every student has a unique learning style, and I aim to adapt my approach to suit each individual's needs. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, develop their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I studied Neuroscience at the University of Bristol and began tutoring GCSE Science before progressing to A-level Biology as I gained confidence and experience. I have also tutored Maths. More recently, I spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a primary school, where I gained valuable experience supporting younger children. My varied journey has allowed me to develop a broad range of teaching experience, from one-to-one sessions to small-group interventions, including supporting children with special educational needs (SEN). This has helped me develop an adaptable approach to teaching and a better understanding of the different ways students learn.

Having been tutoring online over three years now with experience of both groups and individual tutoring sessions, I have gained hundreds of lessons of experience helping me become a more effective tutor. I have tutored both A level and GCSE level maths and physics, as well as A level psychology, GCSE geography and some KS3 sciences and maths. In lessons I like to use active recall throughout to ensure that students are absorbing the material. A typical session will start with a few questions to assess a student's initial understanding of a topic. We then go through the content - focusing only on areas where they need support - before finishing with some exam-style questions to consolidate their learning My speciality is AQA for most subjects, the main exception to that is A level maths in which I did OCR. I have just finished a masters in mental health research, after my undergraduate in natural sciences (specialising in physics and psychology). This followed my A levels in which I achieved A*'s in maths, psychology, physics, and geography. What makes me a great tutor is that I am patient by nature and I understand the situation you are in, this means I will always make sure you understand what you are required to know, and ensure I find a way of tutoring that best suits you, whether that be by doing numerous exam questions to ensure knowledge or by gaining understanding through analogies to sports. At school I did A levels in Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Geography. I then went on to study Natural Sciences at the University of Nottingham, specialising in Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. Following my undergraduate degree, I completed an MSc in Mental Health Research and Practice, also at the University of Nottingham. My main areas of specialisation are Physics, Mathematics, Psychology and STEM subjects, with a particular focus on Physics at A level and STEM across GCSE and Key Stage 3.

Hi! I'm Michael, I am a second year medical student and a Biomedical Sciences graduate. I have previously tutored for Year 1-11. I provide person-centered support in Maths and Sciences focusing on boosting confidence and academic results. Beyond traditional tutoring, my background is a Medical Exam Assistant at Brighton and Sussex Medical School University of Sussex (Sep 2020 – Jul 2023): I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. This degree provided me with an in-depth understanding of biological systems and medical research, which I now apply when tutoring complex scientific concepts Harris Academy Battersea (Sep 2018 – Aug 2020): I completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
