I graduated in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham and teach Maths to students of all ages up to A level. I achieved A*A*A* at A level in Maths, Physics and Chemistry, reflecting the strong academic foundation I bring to my teaching. With my students, I ensure that their understanding of underlying methods is to the highest possible standard through rigorous practice. In my experience as a student, exposing yourself to different mathematical scenarios builds a great foundation for achieving the best possible grades. My biggest aim for my students is for them to constantly improve so that when they get to the exam, they are confident about any aspect of the syllabus that may arise. For my sessions, I will ask students what they wish to study and ensure I tailor the session around what I am told. If the student is undecided, I will plan lessons around pushing the student to challenge themselves in rigorous practice, with my guidance, around different mathematical concepts in their curriculum. For exams, my main aim is for students to achieve the best grades possible, meeting and exceeding their targets. My highest level of education is an MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, I achieved A*A*A* in A-level Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics across a range of ages and abilities, up to A level. Through this experience, I have developed a strong ability to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, and build both confidence and exam technique. My focus is always on ensuring students fully understand the methods they are using, so they can approach unfamiliar questions with confidence and achieve the best grades possible.

I’m a motivated and adaptable BCom student with experience in online tutoring, virtual assistance, and content creation. I enjoy learning new skills, solving problems, and helping others. I’m passionate about business, technology, and personal growth. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Financial Management and have previously studied towards a BCom in Accounting. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in business management, finance, economics, accounting, and analytical thinking. Through my studies, I have developed skills in financial analysis, problem-solving, research, data interpretation, and professional communication. In addition to my formal education, I continuously expand my knowledge through self-learning in areas such as technology, coding, social media, and business strategy. I have experience working independently in an online learning environment, which has strengthened my time management, self-discipline, and organizational skills. “Good morning, my name is Hasara Mataraarachchi, and I am 30 years old. I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. Currently, I teach Mathematics. I have been working as a one-to-one tutor for about six years. During this time, I have supported students preparing for exams such as SAT and GCSE. I have experience teaching students at different levels, and I adapt my lessons to meet their individual learning needs. I have also taught a student with ADHD, which helped me develop patience and flexible teaching strategies. I am passionate about teaching because I truly enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts. It is very rewarding to see their confidence grow once they begin to grasp something they previously found challenging. I am especially interested in supporting students with learning differences such as dyscalculia and dyslexia. In my lessons, I focus on making learning engaging by using interactive methods and real-life examples. I adapt to each student’s learning style through questioning and step-by-step scaffolding. For example, when teaching algebra, I break problems into smaller steps and use clear, structured methods to support understanding. Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my pets. Thank you for this opportunity. Hey! I’m Syeda and I am currently in my a placement year studying Law at the University of Liverpool. I have experience tutoring English. My approach to tutoring is to be patient, adaptable and help students feel comfortable whilst achieving set goals. I look forward to working alongside some amazing students! I have an abundance of Law work experience opportunities/ internships which have allowed me to develop many transferable skills including communication skills, adaptability and networking. I also have 4+ years of experience working in Starbucks as a barista which has allowed me thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism.
