Hi, my name is Sophie! I am a friendly, happy person, and I love teaching and talking about books. I have recently finished a job as a sports coach and am about to begin my journey as a children's nurse. My favourite types of text to read are Shakespeare and poetry. My availability will be consistent until early November, but then it will be altered. I attended Southend High School for Girls, where I did both my GCSE's and A-Levels. At A-level, I studied Art, History and English Literature, achieving B, A and A*. I went on to study English Literature at the University of Reading and got a 2:1 with a first class dissertation.

For about 6 years and about 4000 hours of teaching experience, I have helped several students turn their grades around in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for GCSE and A-Levels. I have an ESL certification (TEFL/TESOL), which helps me communicate best with non-native speakers. I combine actual study content with relevant past papers, quizzes, and tips that have consistently helped my students quickly improve their grades, drawing from my firsthand experience of the struggles these subjects can present and my own journey of steadily turning my grades around. My classes are fun, engaging, and taken at the students' pace. My hobbies are traveling, tennis, and movies. Bachelor's in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a University of Southampton Graduate in Biology and Marine Biology, my passion for the life sciences shape both my professional and personal life. I love hiking in the countryside and SCUBA diving. Engaging with diverse ecosystems firsthand allows me to bring authentic context, enthusiasm, and practical examples to my tutoring sessions. Currently training as a teacher via the SCITT pathway, bringing up-to-date classroom experience to my tutoring. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Biology & Marine Biology from the University of Southampton, alongside A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, giving me a strong foundation across the sciences.

I'm a second year Biomedical Science student at Queen Mary University of London with over two years of tutoring experience, mainly teaching GCSE Maths and Science. I also tutor A-Level Biology and Edexcel A-Level Maths, tailoring each lesson to suit the student's learning style and goals. I'm passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their potential in exams. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy expanding my knowledge of science and medicine, and I'm working towards a career in healthcare. I aim to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. My degree has strengthened my analytical, problem solving, and communication skills while reinforcing my passion for science and education. Academically, I achieved excellent GCSE results, earning 10 A*-As across all subjects, including Further Mathematics, before going on to study A Levels in Biology, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Having recently completed these qualifications myself, I understand the challenges students face and the techniques needed to succeed in exams. Alongside my studies, I have over two years of tutoring experience teaching GCSE Mathematics to both Foundation and Higher tier students. Through this role, I have helped students improve their confidence, strengthen their understanding of key concepts, and achieve their academic goals.
