Hello everyone! I'm Sheila and I'm excited to be your math teacher this year! Math can be challenging, but it's also a powerful tool for solving real-world problems and thinking critically. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, in 2013 and later completed a Master of Education in Mathematics in 2018. With a decade of teaching experience, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to reach their full academic potential. I utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials, including online resources, to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that each student has the tools they need to succeed. My approach focuses on guiding students toward their educational goals, whether transitioning to postsecondary education, pursuing vocational paths, or achieving personal growth. I continuously assess and document both the academic and social progress of my students, maintaining thorough records and analyzing data to inform my teaching strategies. To keep parents and guardians involved, I communicate regularly through multiple channels and hold conferences as needed to discuss individual progress, aligning with school requirements and ensuring a collaborative approach to each student's development.

I have been tutoring with GoStudent for almost a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a current Sunday-School teacher and former volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s.

Hi, I’m Ibrahim, a dedicated GCSE Maths and Science tutor with over 4 years of tutoring experience. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, where I apply the same analytical and problem-solving skills that I teach to my students. I have worked with students of all abilities, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding of difficult topics, and achieve their target grades. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on clear explanations, exam technique, and plenty of practice questions to ensure they feel fully prepared for their exams. I specialise in breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making even challenging concepts accessible and engaging. Hi! I’m Surabhi - I love helping students not just understand their subjects, but actually enjoy learning. I focus on building confidence, finding the right approach for each person, and making lessons engaging and interactive. I’m patient, approachable, and always happy to answer questions, no matter how small or silly they may sound :) Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, art and dance! All of which helps me bring a bit of creativity into our sessions. Over the course of my education, I have developed strong knowledge in Economics but even more in English Literature - a subject I am highly passionate about, alongside effective study strategies that I now enjoy sharing with others. I have experience supporting peers through informal tutoring and study groups, helping them build confidence.
