Hi my name is Gabriel. I am a 28 year old 11+ tutor. I love helping students prepare for their 11+ entrance exams. I have a degree in English from Rhodes University. I have a passion for teaching and for helping others grow. I have experience with helping students prepare for the GL Assessment 11+ test as well as others such as the Sutton Boys 11+ test. In 2018 I enrolled in a Bachelor of the Arts at Rhodes University in my home country of South Africa. Rhodes University has the best Humanities Faculty and the best English Department in the country and so it was a natural choice for me as I intended to study English Literature. I completed my triple major Bachelor's in English Literature, History and Philosophy in 2020.

Hello, I am a final year student at the University of Southampton studying Mathematics with Computer Science. I achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics repectively at A level. This summer I spent time working with experienced teachers, teaching mathematics in a secondary school, they gave me lots of advice and valuable insights that I will use to help you achieve your goals in your future. During GCSE's at Chesham grammar, I achieved a 9 in Maths while only missing out on a total of 7 marks across all 3 papers. I also achieved 9s in Biology and Chemistry with an 8 in Physics. At A level, studying at St Dominic's Sixth Form College, I achieved A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics respectively. At the University of Southampton, I am currently in my final year studying Mathematics with Computer Science, I have achieved an average grade of 80% in my first 2 years of study and am on track to graduate with a 1st.

I am a fully English-educated student with a strong academic background in Mathematics. I achieved an A in A-Level Mathematics and have over 3 years of tutoring experience, completing 300+ hours of lessons. I have helped many GCSE Maths students improve their grades, with several achieving Grade 8s and 9s. I also participated in the UK Maths Challenge, achieving the highest score in my school, which developed my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Teaching Style My teaching style is student-centred, patient, and adaptable. I first identify the areas a student finds difficult and then break each topic down into simple, manageable steps. I use clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice before encouraging students to tackle questions independently. I place particular emphasis on exam technique. I help students understand different question types, show their working clearly, avoid common mistakes, and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems. I adapt each lesson to the student's ability and goals, whether they are aiming to secure a pass or achieve a Grade 8 or 9. Proudest Achievements One of my proudest achievements is helping many GCSE Maths students achieve Grade 8s and 9s. Seeing students progress from struggling with a topic to confidently answering exam-style questions is extremely rewarding and is one of the main reasons I enjoy tutoring. I am currently studying Medicine. My education has provided me with a strong foundation in Mathematics, science, and analytical problem-solving. I achieved an A in A-Level Mathematics and have over 3 years of tutoring experience, with more than 300 hours of teaching. During this time, I have specialised in GCSE Mathematics, working with students of different abilities and helping many students achieve Grade 8s and 9s. My main specialisation is GCSE Mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, number, and problem-solving. I also have extensive experience with exam preparation, helping students improve their exam technique, identify common mistakes, and approach unfamiliar questions with greater confidence. I have not yet completed my university degree as I am currently studying Medicine. I went to Northgate Sixth Form in Ipswich to study for A levels where I achieved a grade A* in both Maths and Further Maths and a grade A in both Physics and Economics. Before this, I completed my GCSEs at Northgate High School in Ipswich where I achieved grade 9 in 5 subjects (including Maths), grade 8 in 4 subjects and grade 6 in 1 subject. My strengths are in Maths and the sciences. I am also musically trained having achieved a grade 8 merit on the piano from Trinity College London, a grade 5 distinction on music theory from ABRSM and a grade 9 in Music GCSE.
