Hi, I’m Mareena. I am currently in university studying optometry and the university of Leicester. I’m excited to start my role as a tutor and have the opportunity to help students improve their skills and gain confidence in themselves. I’m looking forward to supporting them in reaching their goals and making their learning experience enjoyable and rewarding. I completed my GCSEs, achieving grades 6-9, and A Levels at St Edmund Campion Catholic school. I am going to study optometry at the university of Leicester. . I have gained some tutoring experience by supporting a student in Mathematics over two online sessions. During these sessions, I focused on explaining mathematical concepts clearly, working through questions step-by-step, and adapting my explanations to help the student understand the topics more confidently.

I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor with over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, supporting students across a wide range of ages and abilities. I specialise in Maths and the Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and have experience teaching across different exam boards. I have taught Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supporting students from KS2 and KS3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level. I have also worked with students preparing for the 11+ and have experience adapting lessons for students who require additional support or a different approach to learning. I have taught students following several major UK examination boards, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. This has given me a good understanding of the differences between specifications, assessment styles and mark schemes.
