I'm a first year medical student in London dedicated to teaching my students how to engage with their learning and achieve their academic goals. I tutor for GCSE Maths and Science for a variety of exam boards, such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. As a full time student, I empathise with the difficulties students may encounter while navigating their chosen subjects of study. Having achieved 9-9-9-8 in my GCSEs three years ago, I am certain that I can enable my students to approach their learning with confidence. My first priority as a tutor is making my students feel comfortable with topics they feel are the most daunting, so they can eventually progress to tackling unfamiliar scenarios in questions. I teach using a wide variety of learning techniques, so that my students can explore what works best for them. Some include utilisation of past exam questions, recaps of previous lessons and whiteboard interactivity to reinforce my students' learning. I'm currently studying at UCl in its Medical School for the Medicine MBBS BSc degree. I achieved A*AA in my A Levels in Biology, Maths and Chemistry. I achieved 9-9-9-8 in Triple Science Higher and Maths. I attended grammar school for the entirety of my school experience.

Hi, I’m Samara! I’ve been tutoring English at KS3, GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ preparation, since 2022. I’m currently studying Law at a Russell Group university and genuinely love helping young people grow in confidence and reach their full potential! I teach students aged 8 to 18 and always aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their skills at their own pace. Outside of teaching, I love music, cooking and documentaries :) I am currently studying Law at the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university, where I have further consolidated my strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and clear communication. My degree requires me to understand complex information, construct well-supported arguments and explain ideas in a structured and accessible way, which are all skills I bring into my teaching! I have completed modules including the Foundations of Legal Knowledge, the core units for an LLB Law degree. Before university, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma at Bexley Grammar School. My studies included English Literature, Global Politics and History which strengthened my essay-writing, analytical and communication skills. This diploma is notoriously more rigorous than A levels and has really helped me in preparation for university and for teaching A level English Literature. I also achieved strong GCSE results across subjects including English Language, English Literature, History, Religious Studies, Business Studies, French Mathematics and the sciences. As a former grammar school student, I also have a strong understanding of the 11+ process and the skills students need to develop in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. I have been tutoring since 2022 and have experience teaching students from approximately age 8 to 18. I tutor 11+ preparation, KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English. I have worked with students of different abilities, including those who need additional confidence and support, as well as higher-achieving students aiming for top grades. In the past, I have led sessions with SEN students and first-time English learners hoping to do the 11+ or work towards sitting their SATS. Texts covered by me at GCSE level include Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, poetry for both anthologies and many more. As for A Level students, I have covered Othello, Twelth Night, Jane Eyre, The Handmaid's Tale, A Street Car Named Desire, The Great Gatsby and many more. My lessons are tailored to each individual student. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their confidence. I use clear explanations, worked examples, structured practice and regular feedback to help students understand difficult topics and make measurable progress. I also adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s age, learning needs and goals, while keeping lessons engaging and focused. Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, particularly seeing students become more confident and independent over time. I am patient, reliable and enthusiastic, and I take pride in helping students achieve their academic goals while also developing a more positive attitude towards learning :)

Hi, I’m Lily and I’m a 19 year old student at the University of Leeds currently on my second year of completing the joint-honours degree of Spanish and International Relations. I have a passion for tutoring and I have been doing it for years in multiple different secondary schools, so I know how to engage with students and adapt my teaching methods to the particular student to ensure they can achieve the highest grade possible in a fun and relaxed setting. I teach Spanish after studying the language at GCSE, A-level, and degree level, so I would say I have expert knowledge in this area to help students who are keen to learn of all ages. We can have fun whilst we learn as I truly believe you learn the most and remember the most when you are enjoying what you are doing. Outside of studying and tutoring I love to play instruments like the guitar and the piano, and I also kick-box and dance. I love to keep myself busy and to help elevate others to be the best versions of themselves which is why I love to tutor, and this year I will be teaching English in Spain. I am an effective tutor. I’ve worked with SEN students including students with; dyscalculia, ADHD, dyslexia and autism. Whether you are looking to increase your grade by a little, or a lot I am here to get you to that full potential. I specialise in teaching GCSE maths and have led many students to get top grades. I work based on the students’ needs and I am very much able to adapt to their preferred learning style. I use exam questions from your exam board and continue to practice topics with you until you are fluent As I am a visual learner myself, I work with students particularly through diagrams, visual aids and in depth examples, drawn on interactive whiteboards as well as analogies to explain concepts required for their curriculum and more importantly, the final exam. Practice exam and past paper questions are key to unlocking the higher grades, and so I always integrate questions throughout the teaching of content during lesson to ensure the student understands and digests what they have learnt properly through application, you will never be short of exam practice in one of my lessons, as that is how the real exam will be like. There is always an open door policy to ask whatever questions you need to, whether that is in or out of lesson time, no question is too big or small.
