Hi! I’m Laureen Caitlin, a passionate Math tutor dedicated to helping students aged 11–18 build confidence and actually enjoy problem-solving. Math doesn’t have to be scary, and I’m here to prove that! I love breaking down complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making every lesson feel achievable and even fun. Seeing students go from “I don’t get it” to “I got it!” is what I love most about teaching. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy singing and exploring new hobbies which helps me bring positive energy and creativity into my lessons. I hold a Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics from Far Eastern University and a PhD in Educational Leadership from Universidad de Dagupan. My name's Solomon, and I am a postgraduate research student studying for a PhD in Mathematics at the University of York. I have always had a passion for Mathematics and to help others understand and achieve where they are struggling. I have tutored online since 2016, focusing on building pupils' confidence within the subject as well as the general perception of maths and, for those focused on exams, nailing down exam techniques. My main aim is to keep our sessions fun and enjoyable and to keep you engaged and interested in the maths being discussed. I attended the University of Leeds, achieving a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics before undertaking a MSc in Mathematics through the Open University, in which I achieved a Pass with Merit. I have been working towards achieving a PhD in Mathematics since 2022 at the Universty of York where my primary area of research is Analytic Number theory, particularly focusing on moments of the Riemann Zeta function and its derivative.

I am passionate about helping students reach their academic goals by making learning clear, structured, and enjoyable. With strong skills in organisation, communication, and critical analysis, I ensure that lessons are not only effective but also build lasting confidence. I have increased my knowledge through experiences with top law firms to supporting patients in healthcare areas which has allowed me to strengthen my communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain things clearly. I’ve also helped several students improve their understanding of subjects and grow in confidence with their learning. As a tutor, I take a supportive and adaptable approach as my degree encourages me to understand that every student learns differently so I tailor lessons to suit individual needs.
