“Good morning, my name is Hasara Mataraarachchi, and I am 30 years old. I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. Currently, I teach Mathematics. I have been working as a one-to-one tutor for about six years. During this time, I have supported students preparing for exams such as SAT and GCSE. I have experience teaching students at different levels, and I adapt my lessons to meet their individual learning needs. I have also taught a student with ADHD, which helped me develop patience and flexible teaching strategies. I am passionate about teaching because I truly enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts. It is very rewarding to see their confidence grow once they begin to grasp something they previously found challenging. I am especially interested in supporting students with learning differences such as dyscalculia and dyslexia. In my lessons, I focus on making learning engaging by using interactive methods and real-life examples. I adapt to each student’s learning style through questioning and step-by-step scaffolding. For example, when teaching algebra, I break problems into smaller steps and use clear, structured methods to support understanding. Hi, my name is Deborah and I am currently studying Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield! I have always loved biology, and at A-level I was also fascinated by psychology and maths, achieving A, A* and A in the subjects respectively. I have over 30 hours of experience tutoring, and I can ensure that I will do my best in helping you learn, combining my knowledge of the subjects, my understanding of what it feels like to be a bit left behind in school, and lots of positivity to prepare you for exams :) I attended Westcliff High School for Girls and achieved A*, A, A and B in A-level Psychology, A-level Maths, A-level Biology and Level 3 EPQ respectively. I also have a Master's degree in Spanish and Italian. I have tutored these languages since graduating in 2010. I lived 10 years in Chile and around 5 years in Italy, which deepened my knowledge of the languages.
