Hello! I am a maths tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience. I enjoy helping students understand maths in a clear and simple way while building their confidence. I teach students from primary level to GCSE and A Level, focusing on strong fundamentals, problem solving skills, and helping students feel comfortable asking questions. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Mathematics, where I developed strong numerical and analytical skills. I also completed an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with Mathematics, which strengthened my knowledge in mathematics, statistics, and logical problem solving. My name is Alinah Mampiti Thakhuli, and I am a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated university student currently completing my final year of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry at North-West University. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, which have strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and engaging way. Teaching has always been one of my greatest passions. I have gained valuable experience tutoring Mathematics and enjoy helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve their academic goals. I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry at North-West University (NWU), South Africa. Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong foundation in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Laboratory Sciences. My degree has equipped me with advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, enabling me to break down complex scientific concepts into simple, understandable explanations for learners of different abilities. I have been tutoring with GoStudent for over a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a former Sunday-School teacher and volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s. I am currently studying for a part-time master's degree in architectural history at Cambridge.

I am a 3rd year biomedical engineering student at University College London. I come from an international background and I have been tutoring my whole life, since age 14 and pride myself on making sure that the way I teach is enjoyable and engaging. I love to chat with people so getting to know my student and what they enjoy is very important as a part of teaching. My hobbies are triathlon and goint to the gym. I also follow football very closely. I went to the English School of Kyrenia in the TRNC. It is an international school and therefore I did IGCSEs and International A Levels. I did my A Levels in Maths, Physics and Biology and achieved an A grade in all three as well as 8s and 9s in all of my IGCSEs. While at school I spent free time tutoring younger years. I now attend University College London and am in my third year of Biomedical Engineering. I have been tutoring 2 family friends aged 16 for their IGCSEs and I tutored my younger brother A Level Physics and Maths while balancing my university degree. My degree has a perfect balance of Maths, Physics, and Biology, making me feel confident that my knowledge is up to date and constantly developing, allowing me to tutor the subjects to a high level. Currently doing the subjects I tutor at a university level has allowed me to understand concepts on a deeper, core level and allow me to teach them at a fundamental level, rather than just memorisation.
