Katy was brilliant with my daughter. Provided the right help and guidance to help with her dyslexia and made her feel like her efforts had value. The methods used have left my daughter feeling like she has achieved. Katy kept the session very engaging. Overall, really impressed with service.

Hello! I’m Katy, an experienced and approachable tutor passionate about helping students build confidence, reach their academic potential and feel genuinely prepared for their exams. For the past five years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students across a wide range of subjects, with a particular focus on GCSE, iGCSE and A Level preparation. With a degree in Politics & Modern History from the University of Manchester, I’ve worked with students of all abilities and enjoy helping them not only improve their grades, but also become more confident and independent learners. My approach to tutoring is calm, encouraging and interactive. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand what works best for each individual and tailor my lessons accordingly...

Hi, I'm Samuel! I'm a Maths student at Warwick University and I specialise in making Maths accessible and achievable for all levels and offer expert help with exam revision. Having mentored GCSE students at school and taught primary school age groups, I’ve developed the ability to simplify even the most daunting topics into clear, achievable steps. I focus on helping GCSE and A-Level students get to grips with complex topics. Whether you are looking to secure a pass or aiming for an A*, I provide a patient, supportive environment to help you reach your full potential. I am currently studying Maths at the University of Warwick. I went to Northgate Sixth Form in Ipswich to study for A levels where I achieved a grade A* in both Maths and Further Maths and a grade A in both Physics and Economics. Before this, I completed my GCSEs at Northgate High School in Ipswich where I achieved grade 9 in 5 subjects (including Maths), grade 8 in 4 subjects and grade 6 in 1 subject. My strengths are in Maths and the sciences. I am also musically trained having achieved a grade 8 merit on the piano from Trinity College London, a grade 5 distinction on music theory from ABRSM and a grade 9 in Music GCSE.

Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. That’s the atmosphere I aim to create in my lessons: engaging, light, and enjoyable. Outside tutoring, I teach meditation and mindfulness and support a charity creatively, which helps me bring patience, flexibility, and creativity into my teaching. I tailor lessons to each student — whether you need grammar support, speaking practice, exam preparation, or a personalised lesson to build confidence at your own pace, or simply want to learn German out of interest and enjoyment. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. I specialised in cultural theory and visual culture and spent an Erasmus semester at Université Bordeaux Montaigne in France. In addition, I hold a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, complemented by an additional 50 hours of training in meditation.

Hi there. James here, from South Africa. I taught in London in Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and then in Johannesburg and Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa for a total of 21 years. I have taught Cambridge A Level History and England and South Africa's English and History curricula. I am also a published researcher, poet, and author. I enjoy cross-country running. I like NETFLIX mystery series. I regularly get out wilderness walking and cross country swimming. Since February 2025, I tutor English and Religious Studies for GoStudent. I battled with learning difficulties at school. However, I did very well after school, because I knew that English opens doors. So, I set goals. Then I achieved a B.A (1985) and a B. Ed (1996) degree, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I did a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I believe education is a lifelong journey. We master English every day for the rest of our lives. So I'm still learning as I tutor GCSE students, A Level students, and juniors, to reach their highest goals.
