Hi! My name is Mariyah, a friendly and dedicated Maths tutor currently on my gap year after completing my A-levels. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their full potential in both GCSE Maths and 11+ preparation. Having recently been through the exam process myself, I understand how to explain topics clearly, boost exam technique, and make lessons engaging and approachable. My sessions are tailored to each student’s learning style, focusing on building understanding and confidence step by step. I have recently completed my A-levels at St Clement Danes, studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry, getting BCC. These subjects have strengthened my critical thinking skills, making me have a deeper appreciation for how much we use these subjects every day. Having done the exams, I understand the struggles the students face and how to support them.

𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐈 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 ① 11+ & SATs (English & Verbal Reasoning) — comprehension, SPAG, reading skills and verbal reasoning, plus practice papers and a bit of stretch to create a challenge once they're ready to tackle it. ② GCSE English Language (AQA & Edexcel) — paper recaps, past paper walkthroughs and the specific techniques that get students from a 5 to a 7, 8 or 9. ③ Primary English — 1 hour sessions on spelling, grammar, comprehension and vocabulary. Kept interactive so it doesn't feel like a chore with breaks in between. ④ Degree Level Proofreading & Marketing Mentoring — 1.5 hour sessions on marketing content, critical analysis, essay structure, grammar and citations. Getting firsts and 2:1s in assessments aren't difficult once you know what to develop your arguments on. 𝐌𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 No question is a silly question, ever. I mix things up with visual annotations, videos and games so lessons don't feel repetitive.
