I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor with over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, supporting students across a wide range of ages and abilities. I specialise in Maths and the Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and have experience teaching across different exam boards. This has given me a good understanding of the differences between specifications, assessment styles and mark schemes. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. My tutoring approach is centred around making challenging concepts easier to understand. I break topics down into manageable steps, regularly check understanding and use practice questions to identify and address gaps in knowledge. I adapt my teaching to the individual student rather than using the same approach for everyone, whether they are aiming to secure the fundamentals, improve their confidence or work towards the highest grades. In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with young people as a Summer Sports Camp Coach at King’s College Taunton. This strengthened my communication, leadership and motivational skills and taught me how to keep young people engaged while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
