During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! Hello, I'm Sophie, a third year Undergraduate student studying Modern Languages at University. I have an enthusiasm for languages and genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I can guarantee you’ll have productive and enjoyable sessions with me. In my free time I enjoy dancing Latin dances such as Bachata and Salsa, am a white belt in Jiu-jitsu and like socialising as well as practicing my language skills. I am fluent in Russian due to my heritage, and have visited Moscow annually during the summer holidays. I have previous experience with volunteering at the Instituto Cervantes in London for a year, as well as underwent an internship for Language Teaching at a secondary school academy in London. For my third year of University, I have studied for 6 months abroad in Spain at the Auntónoma University of Madrid, specialising in the Spanish language, culture and history. Hi! I’m currently studying a maths engineering degree at university and I can’t wait to use the skills I’ve learned to help students with maths and science. I understand what it’s like to struggle with a STEM subject, so I approach my tutoring from a place of patience and sympathy. When a student doesn’t understand a concept, I focus on finding out exactly what piece of the puzzle they are missing, and will re-explain the idea in a way that works for them, as everyone learns differently! For secondary school I attended South Hampstead High School and took my GCSE’s and A Levels there. For my GCSEs I received a nine in maths, English literature , all three sciences, geography and computer science, and an eight in French, art and English Language. For my A levels I received an A star in maths, further maths and physics, and an A in computer science. Currently I’m loving studying an Engineering Mathematics degree at the University of Bristol and I just completed my first year. I’m set to do an integrated masters there as well.
