Hi, I'm Ankita. I am a 4th-year medical student with a strong interest in tutoring GCSE Biology and Chemistry. My main goal is to help students understand difficult concepts by breaking them down into simpler, clearer steps. I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment where students can ask questions comfortably. I believe being patient and making learning fun and interactive can help students achieve their best! Outside of academics, I enjoy watching films, reading and learning new hobbies such as knitting and crocheting! I have achieved 10 GCSEs and completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science, with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). I then studied Medical Genetics at the University of Leicester and earned a higher education certificate, and currently, I am a 4th-year medical student.

I am an experienced mathematics tutor with a strong background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol. Over the past five years, I have successfully delivered tailored, one-to-one tutoring sessions for students of all abilities, including those with dyslexia and ADHD. My approach focuses on diagnostic assessment, breaking down complex topics into clear steps, and building automated tracking to measure progress. Dedicated to making maths engaging and accessible, I love helping students build long-term confidence and achieve their full potential. I hold a 2:1 master's degree (MEng) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol, where I specialised in Communications and Coding. This rigorous program provided me with a strong mathematical foundation across signal processing and data transmission. Prior to university, I excelled in my A Levels, achieving straight A grades in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and was named Physicist of the Year by Imperial College London. I also earned a Bronze Award in the Oxford Physics Olympiad, placing in the top 1-3% nationally.

I’m someone who enjoys helping others understand things and grow in confidence, especially in maths. I’ve previously given private lessons to classmates, and I found it rewarding to see a topic click after we worked through it together. My approach is to break problems into manageable steps and explain them clearly, adapting to the person I’m helping. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s an important part of learning. Outside of studying, I enjoy reading and playing football. I’d love to bring my enthusiasm for maths to GoStudent and help students feel more confident in their own abilities. I completed my GCSEs before studying Maths, Chemistry and IT at A level. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at university, where I continue to develop my mathematical knowledge and apply it to practical engineering problems. My studies have strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex calculations logically. Alongside my education, I have given private lessons to classmates, helping them understand challenging topics by breaking them into manageable steps. This experience sparked my interest in tutoring and showed me the importance of adapting explanations to each student’s understanding.

Having been tutoring online over three years now with experience of both groups and individual tutoring sessions, I have gained hundreds of lessons of experience helping me become a more effective tutor. I have tutored both A level and GCSE level maths and physics, as well as A level psychology, GCSE geography and some KS3 sciences and maths. In lessons I like to use active recall throughout to ensure that students are absorbing the material. A typical session will start with a few questions to assess a student's initial understanding of a topic. We then go through the content - focusing only on areas where they need support - before finishing with some exam-style questions to consolidate their learning My speciality is AQA for most subjects, the main exception to that is A level maths in which I did OCR. I have just finished a masters in mental health research, after my undergraduate in natural sciences (specialising in physics and psychology). This followed my A levels in which I achieved A*'s in maths, psychology, physics, and geography. What makes me a great tutor is that I am patient by nature and I understand the situation you are in, this means I will always make sure you understand what you are required to know, and ensure I find a way of tutoring that best suits you, whether that be by doing numerous exam questions to ensure knowledge or by gaining understanding through analogies to sports. At school I did A levels in Mathematics, Physics, Psychology and Geography. I then went on to study Natural Sciences at the University of Nottingham, specialising in Mathematics, Physics and Psychology. Following my undergraduate degree, I completed an MSc in Mental Health Research and Practice, also at the University of Nottingham. My main areas of specialisation are Physics, Mathematics, Psychology and STEM subjects, with a particular focus on Physics at A level and STEM across GCSE and Key Stage 3.
