Before university, I achieved top marks in BTEC Applied Science, and my degree has continued to build on that foundation through detailed scientific study. I tutor GCSE Combined Science, Biology, and Chemistry, focusing on helping students properly understand topics rather than just memorising facts. I know science can become confusing quickly when concepts start building on each other, so I aim to explain things clearly, break them down into simple steps, and make them feel more manageable. I teach English Literature and English Language to GCSE aged students. I also teach English as a foreign language to both children and adults. I teach English to French students and can speak conversational French to aid this. I tutor students working towards their IELTS qualification I have a Masters in Mental and Moral Science (Philosophy) from Trinity College, Dublin and am looking to further my formal education in the coming years aside from the countless MOOCs I've taken ranging from Opera to Counter-Terrorism classes. I enjoy Creative Writing and am always penning stories or poetry. Hello! My name is Ruth, and I am a dedicated tutor with over five years of teaching and tutoring experience. What started as a hobby while I was at university has grown into a genuine passion for helping students learn and succeed. I believe that every student has a unique learning style, and I aim to adapt my approach to suit each individual's needs. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can build confidence, develop their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I studied Neuroscience at the University of Bristol and began tutoring GCSE Science before progressing to A-level Biology as I gained confidence and experience. I have also tutored Maths. More recently, I spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a primary school, where I gained valuable experience supporting younger children. My varied journey has allowed me to develop a broad range of teaching experience, from one-to-one sessions to small-group interventions, including supporting children with special educational needs (SEN). This has helped me develop an adaptable approach to teaching and a better understanding of the different ways students learn.
