How I help students succeed Most students don't struggle because they can't do the work. They struggle because exam questions are confusing and nobody's shown them a clear way in. I fix that with visual guides, step by step frameworks and loads of past paper practice, so by exam day it just feels familiar. Subjects I teach 11+ & SATs (English & Verbal Reasoning) — comprehension, SPAG, reading skills and verbal reasoning, plus practice papers and a bit of stretch to create a challenge once they're ready to tackle it. GCSE English Language (AQA & Edexcel) — paper recaps, past paper walkthroughs and the specific techniques that get students from a 5 to a 7, 8 or 9. Primary English — 1 hour sessions on spelling, grammar, comprehension and vocabulary. Kept interactive so it doesn't feel like a chore with breaks in between. Degree Level Proofreading & Marketing Mentoring — 1.5 hour sessions on marketing content, critical analysis, essay structure, grammar and citations. Getting firsts and 2:1s in assessments aren't difficult once you know what to develop your arguments on. My approach No question is a silly question, ever. I mix things up with visual annotations, videos and games so lessons don't feel repetitive. Whether it's the 11+, chasing a grade 9, or getting a dissertation proofread properly, the goal is always the same: build confidence and get the result. Online safety I take this seriously. Enhanced DBS check, up to date, plus 3 safeguarding qualifications covering children, 16 to 25 year olds and online tutoring. I've taught learners from age 6 through to university. Hello all!! My name is Huma, and I am in my third year of MPharm. In my gap year after A-Levels, I volunteered at St Peter’s Hospital. I worked with patients, where I helped them work through their worries and concerns. I also was a lunchtime aid, where I helped patients who struggled with their eating. I have connections with successful medical school applicants, and have personal experience with the UCAT, as well as tips when it comes to acing it. Hello, my name’s Benjamin. I’m patient, approachable, and passionate about maths and physics. I’ve always enjoyed talking about the subjects I love, partly because I think they’re really cool, but also because I believe it’s important to be curious about the world around us. My approach to learning is based on understanding things from first principles. I think it’s much better to build strong foundations than to simply memorise facts or methods without really knowing why they work. If you understand something properly, you shouldn’t have to remember very much at all and that makes learning a lot easier and more enjoyable. I also like connecting concepts to real-world examples, as this can make abstract ideas feel much more concrete. For example, Faraday’s law helps explain how wireless charging works! As a tutor, I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and supportive, helping students build confidence as well as knowledge. I completed my A-levels at Bristol Grammar School in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry, achieving A*A*A*A. In Year 12, I also gained a distinction in the Advanced Extension Award in Maths. I am now in my final year studying Physics at the University of Oxford.
