Hi there! I’m Ekom and I’m so excited to be your guide on your learning journey. With a passion for the Sciences, I specialize in teaching Psychology, Chemistry, and Biology. I believe that every student has a unique strength, and my goal is to help you tap into it so you can excel academically. I’ve always been fascinated by how the world works, whether it’s the human mind in Psychology, the reactions that drive Chemistry, or the relation of Biology to human life. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping students not only improve their grades but also understand these subjects. If you’re struggling with difficult concepts or just want to widen your knowledge, I’ll be with you every step of the way. I try to make learning engaging and relatable by using real-life examples to make complex topics easier to comprehend. Asides teaching, I love to watch TV shows like Friends, try out new cooking recipes and go on walks with my dog. Together, we’ll take on challenges, set goals, and celebrate your progress. I’m here to help you reach your full potential. Let’s make learning interesting and fun—looking forward to seeing you in class! My academic journey is rooted in a deep passion for the Sciences, which has been cultivated through years of study and practical experience. I hold a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Uyo, where I studied the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. Throughout my time at university, I gained a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, which allow me to approach complex concepts with clarity and insight. After collecting my University degree, I practiced as a Pharmacist in a General Hospital and spent a year working in the Psychiatry department, gaining practical knowledge in Psychology and Psychiatry. I have honed my teaching skills through a tutoring experience that has spanned 4 years. Having tutored students from various educational backgrounds, I am now skilled at breaking down complicated material and tailoring lessons to each student’s individual needs. With years of experience in both one-on-one tutoring and group sessions, I’ve developed an intuitive understanding of the challenges students face and how to guide them through these challenges effectively. I’ve worked with students preparing for various exams, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and University entrance exams. I tailor my teaching style to suit the Exam board and Syllabus using specific past question papers and marking schemes. Through continuous professional development, I stay up-to-date with the latest educational trends and advancements in the Sciences, ensuring I provide students with the best, most current resources and strategies for success.

Hi, I’m Aryan, a 19 year old BSc Economics and Geography student at UCL. I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I enjoy helping students understand topics that they may initially find difficult. Before university, I completed the IB achieving 41 points overall, including a 7 in Higher Level Chemistry and 6s in Higher Level Economics and Mathematics. I also studied Geography (7), Spanish (6) and English literature (6) at standard level. I have experience both tutoring other students and being tutored myself, so I understand what makes a lesson genuinely helpful and engaging from both perspectives. I know that every student learns differently, and I try to adapt my explanations and teaching style to what works best for each individual. Outside of academics, I enjoy going to the gym, travelling, and being involved in university societies and leadership roles. Alongside my studies, I have taken on academic and leadership responsibilities, including serving as a First Year Academic Representative at UCL.

Hi! I'm Jenna, a recently graduated Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their full potential. As a determined problem-solver, I have always loved maths - the satisfaction I get from solving a particularly difficult problem is what makes it my favourite! From solving algebraic equations in early GCSE to working out financial budgets for my university life, maths has always been exciting for me. Hopefully I can share this passion with you, and have some fun along the way. I have some tutoring experience across a range of contexts, from helping year 7s struggling with secondary school maths topics, to regularly assisting university students with psychology questions. At the forefront of my focus is a student's inherent grasp of the topic. I will continually check your understanding, and I am willing to approach the topic from a different angle in order to elevate your understanding and knowledge. I am determined to help you in any way that I can so you can achieve your personal academic goals and importantly, boost your confidence in your own mathematical ability. There are no stupid questions in lessons with me - I will encourage you to stick with it and keep asking for help and guidance until you could do it in your sleep! It's not always about top grades: a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and familiarity with numerical rules come first, but good marks almost always come hand in hand with this. I look forward to tutoring you!

Hi, I’m Martha! I tutor GCSE and A-level Maths, with a friendly, patient and practical approach. I enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simple steps and helping students build confidence with maths. I tailor lessons to each student, whether that means going back over the basics, tackling a particular topic or practising exam questions. My aim is for students to feel comfortable asking questions and to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they started. I have an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Nottingham, where I specialised in Mathematics alongside Archaeology. My degree covered a broad range of mathematical topics, and my Master’s project used Principal Component Analysis to analyse archaeological data. Since graduating, I’ve spent several years working in analytical and technology roles, where I’ve used maths, data analysis and problem-solving skills in practice. My work has involved analysing large and complex datasets, identifying patterns, and communicating technical information clearly to people from a wide range of backgrounds. I also have experience delivering professional training, including designing and teaching SQL training courses. This has given me plenty of practice explaining technical concepts step-by-step, adapting my explanations to different levels of understanding, and helping people build confidence with unfamiliar material.

I have over two years’ experience of tutoring and over two years’ experiences as a TEFL teacher. I know that the road to higher education is not easy. I would love to use the skills I have learnt to help students achieve the grades they want. I will personalise the lesson to you and your particular exam specification. I will do my own homework for each lesson, making sure I am familiar with mark schemes and set texts. For TEFL students, I take a personal approach, assessing your most important goals and tailoring lessons to these goals. I try to incorporate elements of reading, writing and speaking into each lesson. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, learning Spanish and watching football. I promise to be a reliable, hard-working and personal tutor.

What are A-levels?
A-level stands for ‘advanced level’, which gives you a good indication of how difficult they can be. Students usually work towards achieving their A-levels over two years, taking three or four courses in the first year of Sixth Form and three in the second year.
Are A-levels difficult?
The shift from GCSE to A-levels is huge, and many students get caught out as they’re expecting a gentle jump.
A-levels require an increased level of independence. Some kids thrive on this newfound taste of adulthood whereas others take more time to adjust.
What is an A-level exam?
A-level exams take place at the end of each year, with the second-year exam testing content from both years.
Non-exam assessments only make up 20% or less of the final grade. That’s why nailing the exams is crucial.
Who can take A-level exams?
Requirements vary between different schools and colleges, but generally speaking your child will need:
When will your child need help with their A-levels?
Many children benefit from tuition right from the start, as the jump from GCSEs is more like a vertical rock climb than a jog up a hill.
If your child struggles with planning their study time, their tutor can guide them on the best study practices and help create a learning schedule.
Why A-level private tutoring works
When should my child start revising for their A-levels?
How much time is needed will depend upon how much effort your child put in during the year and how hard they found the content. Ideally, leave at least a few months for revision and longer if they are taking more than three A-levels.
How do you revise for A-levels?
Just reading over notes and books isn’t enough to solidify information in the brain. Your child will need a study timetable so they can ensure they have time to revise everything in detail.
Our dedicated A-level online tutors will provide homework and exam papers to practise on and will keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress.
Book your free trial lesson today and breathe a sigh of relief. At GoStudent, we make sure that every one of our professional and experienced A-level tutors has been there, aced that, so your child is in safe hands.
How affordable is private A Levels tuition?
The cost of private A Levels tuition can be as low as £21.99. The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?
