ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.

For about 6 years and about 4000 hours of teaching experience, I have helped several students turn their grades around in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for GCSE and A-Levels. I have an ESL certification (TEFL/TESOL), which helps me communicate best with non-native speakers. I combine actual study content with relevant past papers, quizzes, and tips that have consistently helped my students quickly improve their grades, drawing from my firsthand experience of the struggles these subjects can present and my own journey of steadily turning my grades around. My classes are fun, engaging, and taken at the students' pace. My hobbies are traveling, tennis, and movies. Bachelor's in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Teaching Certifications: TESOL / TEFL Esl certified and experienced. Exam board experience: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas. Languages: English (Native). Hello there! Chilean girl living in Portugal. Teaching Spanish on GoStudent. It's not important how old are you, but the level of passion you have for learning this very useful language. I also understand that students do not want to be stuck on a live tutoring session, that's why I try to make my classes fun and simple, with a little bit of challenge in between. I've been teaching since I can possibly remember, and that's around 15 years now! It makes the perfect balance for my Business job.

Levels and Subjects: Lower level - Biology, Chemistry GCSE - Biology, Chemistry A Level - Biology, Chemistry Exam Boards: My Biology and Chemistry A Levels were both AQA, as was the exam board I have been tutoring year 13s at my old sixth form. *I tutor all exam boards except CIE* SEND: I have experience tutoring students with ADHD, autism and dyslexia at my old sixth form. Preferred age group: GCSE and A Level About me: I am 22 years old and in my second year of university, doing chemistry at the University of Liverpool. In my gap year, I worked at my old school, where I tutored AQA biology and chemistry to small groups of year 13s. I would describe my teaching style as engaging and adaptable I maintain an open stance towards feedback and novel ideas. I encourage my students to think beyond conventional boundaries, nurturing their unique style and thought paradigm. I strive to push them to present convincing and innovative points. However, I make lessons very practical; there is a science behind English and I can teach anybody how to improve because I know that. I am passionate about English because I believe it is an evergreen discipline. I love the theories and conversations that English illuminates and evokes in all its forms. Studying English language and literature was truly inspiring for me. My A level studies encompassed a multi-modal exploration, including speeches, plays, books, diaries, interviews, poems, comics, and blogs. This comprehensive exploration challenged me to grasp the nuanced aspects of communication, persuasion and emotion. Moreover, it granted me the opportunity to glean insights from numerous authors representing diverse cultural and historical backgrounds. Hence, I am a better communicator and empathetic person which shines through my teaching. Subjects Taught: English language and literature A level English language/literature Gcse Other comments: I love business and sports! I pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham from September 2020 to July 2023, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Economics with International Economics. Prior to that, I completed my A-Levels at King Edward VI Five Ways School in Birmingham from August 2018 to July 2020, achieving outstanding grades of A*A*A in Mathematics, English Language and Literature and Economics respectively. My academic journey began at King Edward VI Aston Birmingham, where I completed my GCSEs from September 2016 to July 2018, earning notable results including 4 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, and 2 grade 7s, with grade 9 distinctions in English Language

Hi! I’m Sunderani, an Accounting and Finance student at the University of Birmingham with two years of tutoring experience, both privately and in a school setting. I really enjoy helping students build their confidence, improve their understanding and achieve results they’re proud of. I achieved excellent GCSE results, including grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and Drama and grade 8s in Physics, English Language and English Literature. I also achieved an A* in my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Alongside university, I completed a year-long placement at Deloitte in external audit, where I developed my analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. I’ve also started my ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualification and successfully completed six exams so far. These experiences have strengthened my ability to break down complex information and explain it clearly, which I bring into my tutoring. I teach all KS3 subjects, a wide range of GCSE subjects and A-level Maths, Business and Chemistry. I’m familiar with all exam boards and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. Having been through GCSEs and A-levels myself, I understand how stressful exams can be and how much difference the right support can make. I adapt my lessons to suit each student’s learning style, whether that’s breaking down difficult concepts, practising exam questions or improving exam technique. I’m friendly, patient and approachable and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to make them feel genuinely confident in their abilities! I am currently studying BSc Accounting and Finance with a Placement Year at the University of Birmingham. As part of my degree, I completed a year-long placement as a Senior Audit Associate at Deloitte, where I gained valuable professional experience in financial analysis, problem-solving and communicating complex information clearly. I have also begun studying towards the ICAEW Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification and have successfully completed six examinations so far. Prior to university, I attended an Independent School in London on a scholarship, where I studied A-level Mathematics, Business and Chemistry, alongside an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), for which I achieved an A*. I achieved excellent GCSE results, including grade 9s in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and Drama, grade 8s in Physics, English Language and English Literature. I also achieved an A in my Higher Project Qualification (HPQ). Alongside my academic studies, I have two years of tutoring experience, both privately and within a school environment, supporting students across different subjects and abilities. I also hold a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) qualification and have completed first aid training. My academic background, professional experience and tutoring experience have given me a strong foundation in a wide range of subjects, as well as the ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and adapt my approach to different learning styles.

Frequently asked questions

How can I book a trial lesson?

How much does it cost?

Who are the GoStudent tutors?

How does 1:1 video tutoring work?

How to find the best A-level tutor for your child

What are A-levels?

A-level stands for ‘advanced level’, which gives you a good indication of how difficult they can be. Students usually work towards achieving their A-levels over two years, taking three or four courses in the first year of Sixth Form and three in the second year.

Are A-levels difficult?

The shift from GCSE to A-levels is huge, and many students get caught out as they’re expecting a gentle jump.

A-levels require an increased level of independence. Some kids thrive on this newfound taste of adulthood whereas others take more time to adjust.

What is an A-level exam?

A-level exams take place at the end of each year, with the second-year exam testing content from both years.

Non-exam assessments only make up 20% or less of the final grade. That’s why nailing the exams is crucial.

Who can take A-level exams?

Requirements vary between different schools and colleges, but generally speaking your child will need:

  • A minimum of five GCSE subjects with a grade of 4–9 (previously C–A*)
  • The grade needs to be a minimum of 6 in the subjects they want to study

When will your child need help with their A-levels?

Many children benefit from tuition right from the start, as the jump from GCSEs is more like a vertical rock climb than a jog up a hill.

If your child struggles with planning their study time, their tutor can guide them on the best study practices and help create a learning schedule.

Why A-level private tutoring works

  • A private tutor is specialised. Our tutors have been through the process themselves and know their subjects inside out
  • Online tutoring saves travel time, and the majority of students feel more comfortable in their own home
  • Online tutoring also widens the net. You can literally take your pick of the top tutors available

When should my child start revising for their A-levels?

How much time is needed will depend upon how much effort your child put in during the year and how hard they found the content. Ideally, leave at least a few months for revision and longer if they are taking more than three A-levels.

How do you revise for A-levels?

Just reading over notes and books isn’t enough to solidify information in the brain. Your child will need a study timetable so they can ensure they have time to revise everything in detail.

Our dedicated A-level online tutors will provide homework and exam papers to practise on and will keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress.

Book your free trial lesson today and breathe a sigh of relief. At GoStudent, we make sure that every one of our professional and experienced A-level tutors has been there, aced that, so your child is in safe hands.

Answering student's questions about A Levels level online lessons

How affordable is private A Levels tuition?

The cost of private A Levels tuition can be as low as £21.99. The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?

How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than A Levels tuition?

As well as private A Levels tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Italian, English, Physics. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking A Levels tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
